Hey everyone! My name is Kimmy and this past Sunday I became a mom to a crested gecko. You can see him here: Syth

I'm also owned by a husky mix, two cats, a betta, and two white cloud minnows. All these pets since I've been on my own.

I grew up with cats, but always wanted a dog and/or herps.

Syth is my first, so I might have tons of questions! *laughs*

Hey guys I just found this community on here- kinda cool since all I have are... dart frogs! haha. Does anybody else have any? let me know what you have. here's what I have right now:

1.1.14 D. Auratus 'Hawaiian'
1.1 D. Tinctorius 'Dwarf Cobalt'
1.1 D. Pumilio 'Almirante'

For those that don't know what all of those latin names mean: i have the 'green and blacks, the dyeing, the strawberry, bumblebee, and blue' poison dart frogs.

take care,

Hey you guys. I'm a brand new member. Well, I'll start off with a list of my pets. I have a cockatiel, a turtle... a red eared slider, two pugs, three outside cats, two crested geckos, and my friend's ball python is at my house. Oh! And I have a few fishies too. 8D I've been wanting a mali uromastyx for a while, but my mom's scared of them. =( Well, I dunno what else to write... sorry if I sound like a moron. I just didn't know exactly what to write.

*first post* this community rules. I only got into herps a few years ago, but now I'm a complete fanatic. Unfortunately, I live in the middle of the cold, cold, Canadian prairies, so in my province there are only 19 native species, 11 of which live, at closest, about a 10 hour drive south of here... oh well. Anyhoo, my humble list of own-and-have-owned:
2 oriental fire-bellied toads (my only "new" herps -- all my other animals were taken in as previously loved)
1 common leopard gecko, female
1 leucistic leo, male (I have 2 leo eggs that are due to hatch in a week or two! I'm soooo excited!)
1 bearded dragon (questionable lineage, but I suspect a standard sandfirexgerman giant)
1 ex-stray cat, all black
1 dog (mutt, born on the back porch in a November blizzard)
past: assortment of rodents (hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, etc)
well, I think that's about it. toodles :)

took a couple pics of my albino leopard gecko tonite to post here. theyre just crappy webcam shots, and we all know just how easy it is to photograph a moving target, even if they are of calm demeanor...oh well, hes still awesome!

My leo is finally parasite-free. [12 Nov 2003|11:55pm]

opyl
Well, his follow-up fecal came back negative. I might have another one done in a few weeks, just in case. He had coccidia and hookworms when I got him 7 weeks ago. I kinda knew he had parasites when I got him, but I just couldn't pass up such a gorgeous leo.

This is a picture I took a few days ago. I like to show off my leos, if you didn't notice already.

howdy. so this is like my first post here and shit.

i havent really had many reptiles or anything, nor have i had any interest. but mike linked me to a picture of some wierd snake, and i was *like holy shit. so i explored that site, and found links from there and im totally pumped on snakes for the time being. im hopefully buying one soon. and i shall name it captain jack, herpes, whateva, or bernard sumner.

haha. in the past ive had a ribbon snake or whateva, and a some crazy snake my grandpa found in the backyard once.

the ribbon snake died after a few months. i suspect that it was murder.(death by grandma)
and my grandma made us let the other one go.

so yeah. i rock and stuff.

almost as much as this community.

Hey, I started this community for anyone who likes reptiles or amphibians. My goal is to have this become an interesting community for everyone. There are no rules except that all posts must be herp-related and must adhere to the Live Journal Terms of Service.

Thanks!
